Creatively Close Up in Orléans!

25/5/2013

Bonjour mes amis!

Happy Saturday All!

Do you want to know one of the things I really love about France, and today in particular, about Orléans?

There's so much DETAIL wherever I go...

I have been to some places OVER and OVER, and I still see new things every time I return!

SO, that's what I'm going to share with you today...first, from The Cathedral, because it's an amazing place!

There's Wood Carvings that astound me every time I enter...

And there is a Tribute to...Americans...in the Cathedral...

How was that for some Memorial Day material?  Very sobering numbers...
But, it gripped at my heart when I saw a Tribute to Americans from the Country of France!

On a lighter note...
Do they make Carpet like this in the United States?
I think everyone would agree that I should have some in my Home!

Can you spot the Fleur-de-Lis in this Chandelier?
I had never noticed it before this particular visit, and trust me, I've been to the Cathedral here in Orléans many, many times!

 I love this Floor...very French!

People just roll their eyes when I take pictures like this next one, but...
This is a Floor Grate!
Isn't it AWESOME?

And, look closely at this Stained-Glass Window...
Joan of Arc is being burned at the Stake!

Now, we'll step out for a few more pictures...
To where I stroll frequently...
I have loved seeing the flowering Trees in this Old City this Spring!

A quick stop in Hôtel Groslot, and I snapped this one!

Flowers are always beautiful close-up!

And if you've followed me for any length of time...
I adore Wrought Iron!

And More Flowers...

Oh!  And cute Statues of Children are pretty high on the list, too!

They say that the "Devil is in the Details"...
I'm so glad God, and so many Artists took the time to work on the Details.
Aren't you?

Have a "Jewel" of a Saturday!
Jan
