Two Hundred!?!

24/5/2013

Bonjour mes amis!

Today is another momentous day for Me!  How in the world did I get to...

My 200th Blog Post!?!

I've been blogging for about Eight Months now...that's how!  It sure has been fun sharing this awesome year with you, and I love looking back and seeing all the fun and interesting things we've been doing.  Wow!  We've been very grateful for this opportunity...

For today, I'm going to just finish up our last stop in The Netherlands last month, after meeting up with Jewelius' Grandparents.  We went to see The Delta Works!  It's an amazing Work that was done to shorten the coastline of The Netherlands so less Dikes had to be raised, thus protecting the Country from the Sea.  It is an "Engineer's Paradise", since it is a marvel of Construction of dams, sluices, locks, dikes, levees and storm surge barriers.  All these made this Work complete.

First, we watched a Film about the problems before the Construction of The Delta Works and how the land flooded, and many people lost their lives, and others, all their possessions.  Then, we were shown a film about the Construction and planning of The Delta Works.

Then, we gazed at some of the equipment used for the Construction of the Project...

Just look at the size of all this Equipment!

And then, we went to view things close up...

Dr. J got this awesome shot!

Here's a couple shots of the Project as we were driving by, but trust me, this was a HUGE PROJECT!

As I mentioned, this is an "Engineer's Paradise", so with two Engineers, and a third in the making, in our little band of travelers, they really enjoyed seeing this amazing work that has helped to protect the Dutch People and their Land.

As we travel back to France, I leave you today with one last Shot of a Windmill!

Because they are always an awesome view along the road...

Have a "Jewel" of a Weekend, and I'll see you tomorrow with #201!
Jan
