What shall we name Her?

11/5/2013

Bonjour mes amis!

Twenty-two years ago, my due date (with baby #3) of May 5 came...and went.  So, I wasn't going to have a Cinco de Mayo Baby Girl afterall!  (Come to think of it, that would have been an awesome birth day for my girl, who's getting her Minor in Spanish at the University!)

But, all good things come to those who wait, and instead, I received a wonderful little Bundle...Ms. Emerald...on the Eve of Mother's Day.  I got to be poked and prodded PAMPERED the whole weekend at the Hospital, and May 11 is a very special day!  And on top of that, Ms. Emerald was born on a Saturday night, the eve of Mother's Day, just like her birthday falls on a Saturday again this year...on the eve of Mother's Day in the U.S.!  (FYI...Mother's  Day in France isn't until May 26)!

Since I am here in France for her Special Day, and she's in Texas, I want to wish her...

Joyeux Anniversaire!

 Feliz Cumpleaños!

 Gelukkige Verjaardag!

Whoops!  I'm getting carried away.  (That last one was in Dutch!)
You get the idea, Ms. Emerald!

We wish you a...
Very Happy Birthday!
We miss you very much!

Taken at Parc Floral in Olivet, France, January 2013!

Incidentally, when Ms. Emerald was born, we were toying between two names for her, and by the time she was born, we still weren't sure what she was to be named.  Her older sister (Ms. Sapphire) knew which name she wanted for her new little sister.  Obviously, she wanted the one that would give them the same initials...

But...we decided on the other name...

Well, that didn't stop Ms. Sapphire.  As a matter of fact, at 3 1/2 years old, Ms. Sapphire went right up to our Pastor, and in no uncertain terms, told him what we (her parents) were calling Baby Emerald, but that her REAL name was the one SHE had chosen!  (Perhaps she thought he could give Ms. Emerald the "right" name as he Baptized her!)  Though, in the end, we got the final say...we love this precious memory!

We're thankful for Our Children who are Siblings, but also Friends.  All our "Precious Jewels"...Ms. Emerald, Ms. Sapphire, and the Diamond Duo...will be celebrating together this weekend...making their Parents proud of how they care for Eachother!

Wishing you a Very Blessed Birthday, Ms. Emerald!

With our Love,
Mom, Dad and Jewelius
