Bittersweet Move Back Home...

8/31/2013

Bonjour mes amis!

Just a couple weeks ago, I returned to my empty home in the United States, after living in France for a whole year.  Look at what my sweet Daughter, Ms. Emerald, did to welcome us Home!

She's extremely talented and creative...and thoughtful...

She had also picked us up at the Airport...
Gotten the Air Conditioning fixed in our Van...
Made Cookies for us...
AND...
Fixed a Baked Spaghetti Casserole for us for Dinner...

What a WELCOME HOME!

It was really bittersweet for us to leave France, though.  We had such a fantastic, exciting year...THAT WE WILL TREASURE FOREVER...but we also missed our children...our three oldest!  We happen to be all together this weekend, so we're really enjoying being "HOME" and TOGETHER.  Still, we miss France, and speaking French, and our new friends abroad!  See what I mean?  Bittersweet!!!

I've missed you, too!  I've missed sharing with you.  I wanted to stop by today and just assure you that I'm still here, and hope to resume blog posts once again...not every day, but hopefully with some regularity.

For anyone new here, I just moved back to Dallas, Texas, U.S.A., after living in OrlĂ©ans, France this past year!  I've been blogging for almost a year now, sharing all the fun we had in France, and some tidbits from other Countries as well, and lots of other fun stuff too.  I'm super excited to continue on with my blog.  I still have awesome places to visit with you, and I want to continue to share Recipes, and Crafts, and lots of Decorating Fun.  I just moved back into my house two weeks ago.  We're almost unpacked.  I have plans to add some French flair to my Home, but first...

We've had to deal with this...

Lovely Holes in our Laundry Room floor, because of a water leak in the Hot Water Line UNDER the Foundation.  Ugh!

We had an awesome Plumber, and now, we're in the process of getting brand new Porcelain tile.  Our dear former neighbor's son, Colt, is doing the work for us.

How I cannot wait to be able to do laundry in here again!  Our whole move back from France has involved the help of many dear Friends, and I'm thankful this week to my neighbor, Michele, for the use of her Washing Machine and Dryer the other day, and my friend, Ellie (Colt's Mother), who flew in from Colorado to help me get boxes unpacked this past week.  We took coffee breaks and talked and laughed, but we managed to get lots done, and our house is beginning to feel like home again.  See?

There's still some things missing from this room...the area rug, photos, etc., but we're getting there, and I would be delighted to have you follow along as I reminisce about our wonderful time in France, and also incorporate all the things I brought back from France.  (Just as a Reminder...You can subscribe at the bottom of this page, and receive each new Post by Email).

Until next time...
Have a "Jewel" of a Labor Day Weekend!
