A Day Off!

21/5/2013

Bonjour mes amis!

Yesterday was a Holiday here in France, so I took the day off, too!  Actually, I was quite busy all day, but I enjoyed it.  I've been quite busy for several days...barely staying home...so today, I must do the laundry and catch up...with you...

On Sunday, we received a very kind, last minute Lunch Invitation (aren't these the best kind?) from a friend at Church.  Her Hubby was cooking Fish and Cabbage.  While these aren't usually my first choices for a meal, I love being invited into a French Home, and didn't hesitate for a minute at the Invitation.  We had a wonderful afternoon, complete with a beautiful walk along a canal, hearing about the Village we were visiting...

AND THE FISH AND CABBAGE WERE ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!

Our friend sent us home with some beautiful flowers from her Garden.  They don't have Yards here.  Every Yard is a Garden!

The White Lilacs smell heavenly, by the way...

The other day, I promised a little visit to Delft, in The Netherlands.  If you will recall, Dr. J gave me this for my birthday...

Today, I want to take you on a short visit to the Factory where this was hand-painted...

First a short Tour!  Here's where the porcelain is fired...

The various Stages...

We even got to watch the Artists at work...

And then, we went shopping...

Such beautiful things...

There was a Canal right across the Street...

I have more to share in Delft, but let's go ahead and take the rest of the day off!

But, do have a "Jewel" of a Day!
Jan
