Bonjour mes amis!
Today seems like a really good day for a New Recipe! I've been baking quite a few Sweet Breads for Special Events lately, so let me share one that my Mom gave me some years ago. It's moist and delicious and looks pretty, too!
Cinnamon Bread!
And, doesn't it look nice on the French Tea Towel that I bought for 50 Centimes at a Vide Grenier last week?
This Bread is just beautiful sliced, since you can see all the ripples of Cinnamon throughout!
Here's the Recipe...
Cinnamon Bread
4 cups of Flour
1 tsp. Salt
1/2 cup Cooking Oil
2 cups of Sugar
2 Eggs
2 cups of Buttermilk
2 tsp. Baking Soda
Topping:
2 tsp. Cinnamon
1 cup Sugar
Mix topping ingredients well.
In a separate bowl, mix all other Ingredients together for the Bread batter.
Pour half of Bread Mixture into two greased and floured Bread Pans.
Sprinkle half of topping mixture over batter.
Fill pans with the remainder of the batter.
Sprinkle remainder of topping over batter again.
Swirl with knife through batter for marbled effect.
Be sure all of topping is moistened.
Bake in 350 degree Oven for 50-60 minutes.
Yield: 3 Small or 2 Large Loaves
Enjoy...
This bread smells heavenly while it's baking!
Have a "Jewel" of a Day!
Jan
