Fort La Lotte!

9/7/2013

Bonjour mes amis!

When you go on a Road Trip, do you go straight to your Destination, and then straight back Home?  Or, are you like us?  Unless we're going to visit Family, we tend to take a more Scenic Route, and that's exactly what we did with Jewelius' Grandparents in April.

While traveling in the North of France, on our way back to Orléans, we made a stop to walk along a Beach, and then headed to a cool, old Castle/Fort.  Today, I have Jewelius' Grandma Caroline to thank for the pictures she provided.

First, a quick stop at the Beach...

We walked around and climbed on the Rocks...

...and enjoyed the beautiful Day!

We managed to collect a few Shells as well!

Then, it was back into the car to head to Fort La Lotte!  This Fort is located about 35 kilometers west of Saint Malo.  It was built in the 13th Century!

Look at this amazing location, just sticking out into the Ocean!

Of course, it had a Drawbridge!

...and unbelievable Views...

This Stone has been around for a long, long time!

There was a Chapel!

And an Herb Garden!

Some areas were a tight fit inside for Dr. J!

Some Views from the Top!

There were even people spear fishing way down below...

This was a fun place to explore...

We made one other stop that I'll show you tomorrow...Dr. J packs a day really full!

Again, my thanks to Caroline for sharing her pictures with us!

Have a "Jewel" of a Day!
Jan
