Last days in Madrid...

19/01/2013

Bonjour mes amis!

I hope you are enjoying your Weekend!  We were blessed to be so busy with family recently, but it is nice to have a little quieter weekend to enjoy, AND we have snow on the ground here!

Today, I'd like to wrap up telling you about our Adventure in Madrid, Spain...

Remember I showed you these King Cakes in the bakery?

Well, we bought one of these to enjoy for breakfast, and guess who got the surprise baked inside?

Lucky girl...it was our very own Ms. Emerald!  Wasn't that a fitting reward for the girl who prompted our trip to Spain in the first place?  Here she is with her reward!

I told her she needs to bake it into a birthday cake so someone else can enjoy the fun!  We already have someone in mind...I'm not telling...

I do have more pictures to share...more Streetviews and Stops...

This is an uncrowded shot from the Rastro Flea Market (compared to other parts of the Market)...but, it was very busy...many vendors...and, many shoppers!

We ate lunch at a local spot...special dishes served...Couscous with Lamb or Chicken!

After the Fireworks...

...just because I like wrought iron fences...

Puerta De Alcala
Next, we entered the Parque De El Retiro!

Palacio De Cristal!

...just because I like Stone Urns, too...

Isn't this place cool?

Walking back to the Hotel...

The Ritz...all dressed up!

On our last day in Madrid, we also went to the...
Museo National Del Prado...
a HUGE Art Museum...we didn't get to see everything because of our limited time!  It was a cold, rainy day though, so we were happy to be inside.

Finally, we had to head to the Airport to return to France.  What a wonderful trip!  Were we sad?  No, there's always time for fun when Jewelius and Ms. Emerald are around...

Fun at the Airport on the People Walkers!
(Is that what these are called anyway?)

I do wish you relaxation and enjoyment over the weekend...

...and as always...have a "Jewel" of a day!
Jan
