Paris, mais oui!

Bonjour mes amis!

As promised, I'd like to tell you about our day away in Paris...

Last Saturday, I had set our phone alarm to wake us up early enough to catch a 7:30 AM train to Paris.

Well, we missed our train...

I didn't realize that I had to set the alarm specifically for the weekend, so the alarm would only sound on a week day!  Rush! Rush!  We got ready and hustled to the train station (about a 15 minute walk from our apartment) to try to exchange our tickets for the 8:30 train.  With only 5 minutes to spare, we boarded the train, and could finally Relax...

Fortunately, things got better, since we got to share a compartment on the train with a gentleman from Strasbourg who only spoke French, but wanted to converse with us the whole way.  He was very complimentary of Jewel Jr.'s French pronunciation and vocabulary, too!  (We are proud parents!)

Here we are, enjoying our trip...it was kind of our new friend to allow us Americans to take a picture, don't you think?

Just one hour on the train, and we arrived in Paris at the Gare d'Austerlitz...

...and met up with a Friend from Austin, Texas...

...and wandered the Metro halls and stairways...

...and took the Metro, which was rather crowded...

...and then, we got out in the fresh daylight and rain...

...and bought more umbrellas, and visited places like this...

...loaded with yummy, stinky Cheese!

...and saw beautiful Architecture...



...and of course, the Eiffel Tower...

...and More Architecture...

...and beautiful Doors and Windows...

...and then, we came to the Gardens near the Eiffel Tower...

...we didn't go up into the Eiffel Tower today.  Perhaps another time...

Tomorrow, I'll be back to show you some more beauty from Paris, and tell you about where and what we ate...

Ooops!  One more shot to share with you, since I seem to look for this in every city...
