Château de Meung-sur-Loire!

05/10/2012

Bonjour mes amis!

I hope you have a fun weekend planned...

I still wanted to tell you about last Sunday because we had a really nice day!

First we went to Worship...

They were having an Open Door day at the Church, so it was a bit more evangelistic in style, and no regular announcements were made, just invitations to events; there was special music (which we really enjoyed), and small apéritifs were served following the service.  We have been getting to know people fairly well now, so we are regularly greeted with the bisou bisou (kiss kiss) on each cheek.  It is wonderful to know other brothers and sisters in the Lord, despite being so far away from our Home Church.

There was a visitor from Nebraska in Church this morning, and being Americans, we were immediately introduced to him.  We had a nice time visiting, so we asked him to join us for the afternoon, just some quick sandwiches, and then we planned to be off to Meung-sur-Loire to see the Château and go to the Salon Du Chocolat, a first time special event being held at the Château.  Tim joined us, and we had a very pleasant day together.

Here's lots of pictures from our day...

This is a Château with two faces!

The Chapel!

View from an upper floor...views all the way back to Orléans!

I love this "Staging" Closet!

Dr. J was quite taken with this Chandelier...
...while I liked this one and the ceiling medallion!
The Laundry Room!

This shot was taken in the dungeon!  Prisoners were held here at one time!

More outside views of the Château...

A view of the Château from the Loire River!

I'm beginning to lose count on our travels to different Châteaus, but I know there's many more to see!

Tomorrow, I hope to share a little bit about the Salon-du-Chocolat!

I hope you have a "Jewel" of a day!
