Haircuts all around!

Bonjour mes amis!

Happy Monday!  I hope you had a nice weekend!

Let's talk food today...

Wait!

Based on my post title, you thought I was going to tell you that the Jewel family all got haircuts this week, right?  Well, I'll get to the subject at hand, but I know how you lovely Readers like for me to share Food pictures and Recipes with you, so I will get to the subject at hand momentarily, after I share this one thing...

I don't really have a fancy recipe planned to share with you, but I will show you what I made for an appetizer for dinner one night last week...


This was so simple and so delicious.  We ate every bite...

The Appetizer
(or, as they say in France, the Starter...)
 
Simply skewer mozzarella balls, cherry tomatoes and basil leaves.
Then, drizzle with a little olive oil and lightly salt and pepper.
(You could also add a little balsamic vinegar, too, but I chose not to on this particular evening.)

It looked so pretty, and it gave my little Basil plant a Haircut!  (Ah Ha!  Now we are on the subject...)

Speaking of Haircuts...

My little red Kalanchoe plant that shows up in many of my photos...


...has become a little bit overgrown, and there are some new buds wanting to burst, so she got a little haircut, too!



Ah!  Much better!  We should have some new flowers very soon!

My daughter, Ms. Emerald, who happens to be a Horticulture Major in College, will be so proud of me...I've kept my little succulent living for almost two months now!  I just love the life my little Kalanchoe adds to the room, much like the life my Ms. Emerald adds to our family...
