Fortified Village of Carcassone!

26/03/2013

Bonjour mes amis!

How's your week going so far?  Are you busy planning food for Easter Dinner yet?  I need to get working on that, but in the meantime...

Let me share one more day from the South of France with you.  Today, I'd like to take you to see...

The Fortified Village of Carcassone!

This is an impressive Old Village, which dates back to the 5th Century...

Here's a Model of the Château and Ramparts...

The Views were quite nice...

As you can see, it was such a sunny day...

The Château and Inner Courtyard...

It was fun to walk along the Ramparts...

Along the Ramparts, we could view down into People's Gardens...

We made a short stop in...

The Basilique des Saints Nazaire et Celse!

As you've guessed, Dr. J was taken with the Stained Glass Windows...

And, then it was time to leave, and start the long drive back to Orléans...

But, we can still view along the way back to the Car...

Magnificent!  We really enjoyed viewing this place, and I hope you did too!

Thanks for stopping by today...
Have a "Jewel" of a day!
Jan
