15 Minutes I'll never get back!

14/02/2013

Bonjour mes amis!

Joyeuse Saint-Valentin!

(I think you can figure out what that translates to...)

And, I hope you hear from a Loved One Today,
and also share your love with Someone Special Today, too!

It's only possible that...

"We Love, because He first Loved Us."  1 John 4:19

***********************************

Yesterday, I told you that it was OUR DAY TO CELEBRATE the Blessing of many Years of Marriage!  Well, let me share with you today what I did for my Hubby (and Son) when we celebrated yesterday...

I spent 15 Minutes doing Something Mundane,
and now I will never get that time back!!!

(Really not complaining...just thought this Subject and Title would get your attention!)

and anyway...

It was SO Worth It!!!

Everyone knows that France is famous for fussy Pastries and pretty Desserts.  This area is known for Apple Tarts (Tarte aux Pommes), and it is a common Dessert offered in Restaurants here.

Well...I was thinking I should learn how to make one...
And one day, Dr. J casually mentioned that Pears would be awesome in a Tart.

He's right...that's sounded awesome, so why not surprise him for our half-year Anniversary!?!

I had found and saved a Recipe recently, so I got busy cutting up Six Pears, and rolling out the Pastry, and lacing the Pears with Sugar and Cinnamon, and...Voila!  Here She is all ready to go in the Oven!

(I can hardly believe I made Her with my own Two Hands...pretty and not too complicated!)

The next step is the Caramel Sauce that goes on after the Tart is baked.  Uh oh!  It said in the recipe to plan on 15-20 minutes of constant stirring to get the sauce the right consistencyUgh!

And, Yup...

It took me that long...15 minutes I'll never get back!
(How do Chefs do this?)

But...

It was all worth it!

The Smell...
The Taste...
The Smiles on the Faces of some satisfied Loved Ones...

Here She is right out of the Oven...

Think I'll be saving this Recipe.  (Next time, I'll wait to make the Caramel Sauce until just before serving, though...it was hard to reheat...)  It looks like I really fussed though, doesn't it?

What are you doing for your Loved Ones today to show them you Love them?

Happy Valentine's Day!

Have a "Jewel" of a Day!
