Getting Creative at the Colosseum!

9/6/2013

Bonjour mes amis!

Today, we're back in Rome, Italy with our Friends...

First, a little stop for a Father/Son "photo op", and then it's on to a Market, and Lunch!

Now, we're ready for the Event of the Day...the Colosseum!  Pretty nice curb appeal, huh?

Postcard Perfect!

I couldn't help myself on these next shots...Flowers & Ancient Stone Colosseum!  Time for some creative photography!

About 2/3 of the original Colosseum has been destroyed over time.  This Colosseum was able to hold about 50,000 spectators at one time.

We were able to take an awesome Tour of the Interior!

We viewed the areas where the Animals were kept, and where the Gladiators fought...

It was kind of creepy to think about spectators enjoying such displays, but amazing to stand on such historical grounds.

It was impossible to explore every inch of this place, but we tried...

Our Tour Guide took us down to where all the action took place...

And then, she took us to the Top for the most awesome Views!

Isn't this amazing?

The Surrounding Area...

We got a shot of our two families at the top of the Colosseum!  (I'm not sure who that lady was off to the right, but when you ask your Tour Guide to take your picture, you accept whatever she produces!)

Leaving the Colosseum at night...

Quite breathtaking, huh?  It was amazing to see such an ancient part of History!  I hope you enjoyed it.

Have a "Jewel" of a Weekend!
Jan
